Combat the isolation and loneliness brought on by the COVID-19 Pandemic with a four-legged, winged or finned friend!
Adopting a pet can be a great way to relieve stress and combat loneliness during this time of minimal social interaction. If you don’t have the time or if your building doesn’t allow dogs or cats, you can find much joy with many bird species such as parrots, parakeets, cockatiels, etc.
Another great hobby is keeping a fish tank! Whether you choose fresh water, salt water or brackish, having a little chunk of ocean in your home is quite relaxing and lots of fun!
If you really prefer having a dog and can’t have one of your own, you can volunteer at a shelter! You can also offer to walk a friends or neighbors dog while they’re away at work. Or if you have an elderly neighbor that can’t exercise their dog too much, it’ll be a big help to them, and their dog will love you for it! That’s a win-win situation for all!
That four-legged friend will be so happy to see you, and grateful for the exercise and attention. The love and joy you’ll get in return is priceless! This experience may even inspire you to adopt and become someone’s forever mom or dad.
Animals offer such a sense of warmth, love and companionship, and adding one to your life with definitely erase feelings of loneliness and isolation and bring you much companionship and joy!

A Little Laughter!
People used to laugh at me when I would say “I want to be a comedian”, well nobody’s laughing now.
